Funeral services for Vernetta Scott, 101, of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Clarks Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be at Clarks Grove Cemetery. Vernetta died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea.

Vernetta Scott was born May 18, 1914, in Bath Township in Freeborn County, the daughter of Mark and Elva Lawson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School. She was a member of Clarks Grove Baptist Church, an active member of the circle there and a member of the Clarks Grove Heritage Society.

Survivors include her daughters Sharon Scott of Dayton, Iowa, Melissa Anderson of rural Owatonna and Leah Wayne of Geneva; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Vernetta was preceded in death by her sons DuLane Scott and William Scott, and daughter, Carol Scott.
