Albert Lea Community Theatre announces auditions will be at 7 p.m. Monday and March 1, for “The Kitchen Witches” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway in Albert Lea.

Directed by Dylan Kaercher, eight performances of this comedy are scheduled for May 5 through May 14. There are roles for two women over the age of 35, one man between the ages of 20  to 35, and a non-speaking role of either gender. Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script provided that evening. Rehearsals will be scheduled weeknights, with some weekend involvement closer to the performance dates.

Written by Caroline Smith, “The Kitchen Witches” is a raucously funny comedy about Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle, two middle-aged cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called “The Kitchen Witches,” the insults are flung harder than the food.
