Memorial services for Jeanette McElroy, 79, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daphne Hamborg will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Bear Lake Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Jeanette died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at her home.
Jeanette M. McElroy was born July 19, 1936, in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of Arthur J. G. Frederick Audet and Marie D. Jeanette Bouchard. She grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. She worked as a dietary aide in the healthcare field. She came to Minnesota to live with her daughter in 2004. Jeanette was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to Cedar House and loved playing cards, gambling and animals. She was a people person who loved visiting and especially loved her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Anette McElroy of Albert Lea and Juan Rios and David Rios, both of New Jersey; grandchildren, David (Serena) Valdez and their children Marcus and Lilyona, Sharon (Levi) Meyer and their children Aunna, Clara, Levi Jr. and unborn great-granddaughter Makayla Rose, Harley Meyer, Pamela (Mark) Sales and their child, Mark Jr. and Brandy Hughes and McKenna Hughes; sisters Pauline of New Jersey and Irene; niece, Crystal Hagan; along with cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jeanette; and her dog, Bear, who was like her baby.
