Family Y a great place to get fit

Amid the clamor and oppression of political mud-slinging so frequently heard in the news, I’m writing to applaud the YMCA(Y)!

I’ve been addicted to working out (at home) most of my life. However, as I have gotten a lot older, I lost my motivation to push myself, so I recently joined the Y.

Upon entering the Y, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist in a relaxed environment named Marilee. As I joined my first class, I was curious to see if I could keep up with the mostly younger women who participated. I was happy that the instructors offer substitute moves for beginners and are very motivating. Believe me, it was hard to get up to speed at first, but I’m progressing daily and I’m “hooked” on the classes. The Y offers classes appropriate for beginners through advanced fitness levels, just work at your own pace.

I’m also very impressed by the many competent class instructors. If you have a goal of getting fit, this is a great place to do it.  Instructors Daci, Ellen and Shannon are my “girls” whom I work out with weekly. The Y has other wonderful instructors too, like David, Jasmine, Brittni, Jody, Heidi, Greg, Lori and Kathy, to name a few.

Going to the Y is a great way to meet new friends.

If you’re interested and want to learn more, check out all that your local YMCA offers! You’ll be glad you did.

Again, thanks ladies!
