The play captures the time Anne Frank, played by Carine Rofshus, and others spent hiding in a secret annex from 1942 to 1944 in Amsterdam during World War II.

Anne Frank is joined in the annex by Mr. Frank, played by Noah Iverson; Mrs. Frank, played by Emily Wangen; Margot Frank, played by Kendra Manges; Mr. Van Daan, played by Will Kreun; Mrs. Van Daan, played by Sara Kabrud; Peter Van Daan, played by Alec Wendelboe; and Mr. Dussel, played by Brayden Boettcher.

Mr. Kraler, played by Kyle Nelson; and Miep Gies, played by Cali Mowers; help them hide.

Kaercher said the student actors have only been practicing for three weeks and described the student actors as talented, noting he has felt wonderful watching them blossom into young performers.

Wangen said it is going to be a great show, noting it was tough to get in the situation the characters faced.

“It’s kind of crazy how fast we’ve brought this together,” she said.

Rofshus said the play tells a great story, noting the audience should be able to connect with it because of how well-known the story is.
