Janice Wallin, 1966-2016

Funeral services for Janice M. Wallin, 49, of Glenville will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Dennis Hudson will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Janice Marie (Sawin) Wallin was born June 19, 1966, to Neil and Dona Sawin of rural Northwood. She attended school at Northwood-Kensett, where she graduated in 1984. She went on to study at Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa. On Nov. 17, 1990, she was united in marriage to Thomas Erling Wallin of rural Northwood at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. In January 1992 she gave birth to a son, Joshua Thomas. In August 1993 she gave birth to a daughter, Tami Janice.
They farmed and raised livestock near Gordonsville. Janice enjoyed working at home and for others including Northwood Lutheran Retirement Home, Hallmark, Herberger’s, Home Federal Bank and Low’s Auction Co. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Glenville.
Janice was very proud of her family and loved spending time with them and friends. She also loved playing games, pool, snowmobiling, dancing and going to concerts. She always had a smile and a positive attitude that could easily bring smiles from all who were blessed to spend time with her.
She left to be with the Lord Saturday, April 16, 2016, after a brief stay at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Janice was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and twin brothers, Alvin and Kevin. Janice leaves behind husband, Thomas, of 25 years; son, Joshua; daughter, Tami; sister, Ledene (Harold) Kamrath; brothers Leroy (Cheryl) James, Roger Sawin, Daryl (Mary) Sawin and Bruce Sawin; mother-and father-in-law Dale and Irma Wallin; sister-in-law, Melanie (Doyle) Anderson; brother-in-law, Kyle (Janet) Wallin; uncle, Melvin (Michele) James; and many nieces and nephews.
“She made life fun!” the family stated. “We miss her greatly and hope to carry on her legacy.”
