Just For Kix team scores big in competition

The local Albert Lea Just For Kix team competed in a largescale competition on April 10 in Rochester.

The company runs 10 of these events per year, with the largest being in Rochester.

There were 506 total team performances at Rochester Community and Technical College and over 4,000 dancers involved.

Categories included kick, hip hop, lyrical and jazz.

Category groupings were based on class size and average grade.

Each division was judged by five qualified judges.

Albert Lea took eight teams and won six first-place and two second-place awards. Winning first were Wee Jazz second-fourth grade; Mini Kix fourth grade; Middle Kix sixth grade; Middle Kix seventh grade; Mini Jazz fifth-seventh; and Junior Jazz seventh-12th. Second places went to Mini Kix fifth grade and Senior Kix eighth-12th grades.
