Mark Savick, 1952-2016

Mark A. Savick, 63, of Freeborn passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, at his home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at McRaith Funeral Home and Crematory in Waseca. In keeping with Mark’s wishes, a formal service will not take place.
Mark Anthony, son of Alvin and Maxine (Haukoos) Savick, was born May 24, 1952, in Albert Lea. He attended and graduated from Freeborn High School in 1970 and then attended Albert Lea Technical College. Following his schooling, he served in the United States Army. Mark worked several jobs, including welding for Herter’s in New Richland and working as a self-employed refrigerator repairman. On Oct. 7, 1978, Mark was united in marriage to Julie Sauke in Kiester. Mark enjoyed hunting and fishing and he loved boats and cars — especially Camaros.
Mark is survived by his son, Luke Savick, of Freeborn; mother, Maxine Savick, of Albert Lea; brothers Vic (Gail) Savick of Freeborn and Allan Savick of Albert Lea; sisters Dixie (Dale) Johannsen of Waseca and Patty (Larry) Behrens of Albert Lea; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Savick; and brother, Kevin Savick.
