Interesting how some column writers feel they can read Republican minds and find the real reason they do something. Let me try to read Democrats’ minds for the real reason for being against voter ID.

Could be they ignore the thousands of same-day voter registrations cards that are sent out after the election and are returned as address unknown because they know they were probably votes for Democrats. Could be that with a voter ID law Democratic organizers would not be able to give people in the inner city a free meal, give them a Democratic sample ballot so they know who to vote for, then load them up and take them to the polling place and vouch for them as residents.

I believe the real reason Democrats are against voter ID laws is because it would make these voters realize that Democrats didn’t think they were capable of getting an ID, and when they find out how easy it is, they may start to wonder what else the Democratic Party is doing to keep them forever dependent on someone else. A last attempt at mind reading, Democrats are pushing for free college for undocumented aliens, and the columnist wanted to have student IDs used as legal proof of residency.

Could there be a connection?
