CONGER — Two children were injured in a rollover crash Wednesday west of Conger.

A 2-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening, said Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Tim Bennett.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Michelle Sauke, 42, of Walters, was driving a 2003 Buick LeSabre east on Freeborn County Road 17. Julie Ann Bachmann-Marschalk, 50, was driving a 2011 Honda Insight south on 640th Avenue when she reportedly slowed down but did not come to a complete stop at the intersection.

Bachmann-Marschalk reportedly went to close her sun roof, went through the stop sign and was struck by the LeSabre.

The LeSabre rolled end over end in the south ditch, Bennett said.

The two children were passengers in the LeSabre.

Bachmann-Marschalk was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
