Linda Boleneus, 1947-2016

Memorial services for Linda Marie Boleneus will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Don Malinsky will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Linda M. Boleneus passed away Monday, May 9, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. She was 68.

Linda was born on July 20, 1947, to Thomas and Ida (Lyngaas) Henderson in Albert Lea. She was raised on a farm in Silver Lake Township and baptized and confirmed at Sion Lutheran Church in rural Lake Mills. In 1965, Linda graduated from Lake Mills High School and went on to graduate from University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Linda lived in Clear Lake for a number of years before settling back in the Albert Lea and Lake Mills areas.

While working, Linda was a teacher and a social worker. She held various positions at Brookside School, Area Learning Center and Freeborn County Human Services. She started and ran the surrogate program and was also very involved in the Teen Parent Program.

Linda married Ronald “Rudy” Rognes on March 27, 1999, in Las Vegas. They made their home on a farm near Bear Lake. In her free time Linda enjoyed reading, dancing, singing, shopping and being with her numerous dogs. Linda liked to entertain friends and family on various occasions — from Easter egg hunts for the children to large family Christmas dinners. All were welcomed into her home graciously.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ronald “Rudy” Rogness; daughter, Lisa (Perry) Satullo, of Albert Lea; grandchildren Alicia (Nick) Hoiseth of Lake Mills and Nick Kuhlemeier of Albert Lea; great-grandson, Chambers Hoiseth; sisters Irene Bock of Albert Lea, Hazel Willert of Lake Mills, Virginia Peterson of Albert Lea and Terry (Patrick) Cunningham of Twin Lakes; brother, Tom (Susan) Henderson, of Owatonna; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ida Henderson; sisters Helen and Karen; brother-in-law, Bob; and nieces and nephews Brandon, Krystal, Jaydon and Kristina.
