Nine libraries were donated to Albert Lea Area Schools, according to a press release. Libraries will go to Sibley, Hawthorne, Halverson and Lakeview elementary schools; Brookside Education Center; Glenville-Emmons School; St. Theodore Elementary; Alden-Conger Public School; and Hollandale Christian School. Each school will have its art teachers lead the cause to decorate the library box.
Little Free Libraries are said to connect communities and make it possible to put books into the hands of children who otherwise have limited access. There are no limits and no late fees. The libraries are set up for children to borrow books, keep books or donate books. The Albert Lea Rotary Club will fill these libraries.
There are two other known stewards to Little Free Libraries in Albert Lea. One is at the residence of Carol Hegel Lang at 806 Lincoln Ave., and one is at the business of BidGetters at 302 Bridge Ave. More information on Little Free Libraries can be found at www.littlefreelibrary.org. If you have a Little Free Library or build one this spring, contact the Albert Lea Tribune to place on a future map.
