Motorcyclist, 2 others injured in crashes in area

An Albert Lea man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday north of Albert Lea.

Chance Allen Rhodes, 21, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea by Gold Cross ambulance, according to Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darren Hanson.

Rhodes was driving a Harley-Davidson Sportster north on 740th Avenue with a group of motorcyclists east of Manchester, Hanson said.

Rhodes reportedly attempted to straighten the motorcycle, went into a ditch and struck an embankment where the driveway meets the road. Rhodes was reportedly ejected approximately 60 feet from the motorcycle.

He was reportedly driving approximately 50 mph at the time of the crash.

Two injured in crash

Two people were reported injured in a crash at 12:32 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Sorensen Road and U.S. Highway 65.

The people were reportedly transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

The crash is still under investigation, Hanson said. He expects charges to be filed from the crash.
