Teenager arrested for armed robbery in A.L.

Albert Lea police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection to a reported armed robbery Friday night in Albert Lea.
The robbery reportedly took place at approximately 8:58 p.m. Friday at the Mileage gas station at 901 W. Main St.
After receiving a description of the reported male robber who was said to have been armed with a handgun and had fled on foot, officers from the Albert Lea Police Department, deputies from the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and a conservation officer from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources converged on the area and established a perimeter.
Within minutes, the conservation officer was reportedly in foot pursuit with a male subject under the west main viaduct near Skyline Mall. At about 9:01 p.m., a 16-year-old Albert Lea juvenile male was taken into custody near Hayek Park.
Officers located a BB gun, mask and a cloth bag of money on the juvenile, according to an Albert Lea Police Department press release.
The juvenile was reportedly transported to Minnesota Correctional Facility-Red Wing pending his court appearance.
Two employees were working in the store at the time of the incident and were not injured, according to the press release.
