While the town of Albert Lea was busy getting dumped on with rain Monday, the Tigers girls’ golf team traveled to Northfield for a triangular with Red Wing and Northfield.
While the conditions weren’t much better, the Tigers were still able to get their round in. They finished with a score of 386.
Red Wing won the triangular by shooting a team score of 327, and Northfield scored a 347.
Despite the performance, Tigers’ coach Shawn Riebe was pleased with the performance.
“This was actually a pretty good showing for us,” said Riebe. “This is a very tough course and the conditions were just as tough. It poured on us for awhile, and the wind was definitely a factor. Despite all of that, I think we are moving in the right direction. We have to keep chipping away to be competitive in the postseason.”
Natalie Nafzger led the Tigers with a score of 92, and Sam Nielsen was right on her heels with a 93. Bailey Sandon shot a 99. Sara Rasumssen and Emma Loch both shot a 102, and Maddy Carstens rounded out the scores with a 104.
