The Albert Lea softball team hosted the Winona Winhawks on senior night.

On a night when Albert Lea seniors Hannah Schilling, Allison Grandstrand and Meliza Lopez wold play their last home game, the Winhawks showed no sympathy for the Tigers or their three seniors.

Right from the start, the Winhawks poured on the runs to an eventual 21-3 win.

They scored six runs off Schilling in the first inning, then added five runs in the second and third inning to build a 16-0 lead.

The lead would balloon to 21-0 before the Tigers struck back with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

With two outs, Grandstand crushed a bases-loaded double off the fence that scored three runs.

The loss is the 10th in a row for the Tigers, and they will close out their season when they travel to Rochester to play Mayo on Thursday.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
