Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative ask their members to power down from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. today.

The cooperative is asking people wait until after 7 p.m. to use any unnecessary electric power. Today is a peak alert day due to high demands for electricity throughout the Midwestern region.

Waiting until 7 p.m. will help keep electricity costs low for members of Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative.
