GARRISON — The Minnesota State Patrol said a hit-and-run crash has killed an 11-year-old girl as she walked along a highway in east-central Minnesota.

The patrol said the crash happened just before 8 p.m. Friday on State Highway 18 near Mille Lacs Lake in Aitkin County.

Investigators said they would like to talk to the driver of a white Ford pickup pulling a white fifth-wheel camper with black trim who was in the area and may have seen the crash.

The name of the girl was not immediately released.
