The NRHEG Panthers were looking to make it four victories in a row when they traveled to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Tuesday evening

Over the last three games, the Panthers’ offense has been explosive, scoring 22 runs during that stretch.

But the Panthers found out that scoring runs of GFW pitcher Kyle Huiras was extremely difficult.

Huiras allowed just four hits on the day and shutout the Panthers, 4-0.

“Overall, I thought we came out pretty flat,” said Panthers coach Drew Paukert. “We made some good plays in the field behind (Dempsey), but offensively, we were just flat. We didn’t do a nice job of putting the ball in play when we had opportunities to score.”

The Panthers started the game with back-to-back walks, but were unable to do much else against Huiras.

GFW pushes its record to 18-2 on the season.

NRHEG will play on Thursday at St. James.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
