Local ophthalmologist lectures in Branson

Leonid Skorin Jr., Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea ophthalmologist, recently presented a lecture series for the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry Continuing Education Program in Branson, Missouri.

Nate Lighthizer, director of continuing education for the Oklahoma College of Optometry, invited Skorin to give his presentations. Lighthizer did a three month intern rotation in 2008 with Skorin at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. Skorin has trained over 70 optometry interns, osteopathic medical students and nurse practitioner/physician assistant emergency room fellows throughout his career.

Skorin joined Mayo Clinic Health System in 2000 as a comprehensive ophthalmologist with an emphasis on cataract, glaucoma and eyelid surgery. He also sees and treats patients with macular degeneration. To schedule an appointment with Skorin, call 373-8214.
