Memorial services for Maxine Lavonne Savick, 88, of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Maxine passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community.

Maxine Lavonne Savick was born June 7, 1928, the daughter of Millard and Bernice (Monson) Haukoos of Walters. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Walters. She attended school in Walters. Maxine married Alvin O. Savick and had six children. She worked at Koettke’s Grocery Store in Walters and St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, along with canning fruits and vegetables. Some of her favorite times were watching wildlife when she lived in the country.

Maxine is survived by her sons Victor (Gail) Savick of Freeborn and Alan Savick of Albert Lea; daughters Dixie (Dale) Johannsen of Waseca and Patti Behrens of Albert Lea; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Julie Savick, of Albert Lea; sisters Bev Dylla of Wells, Pat Haugh of Albert Lea and Marcia (Dick) Schorman of Villa Park, Illinois; brothers Dennis (Inez) Haukoos of Lakeville and Ronald (Mary) Haukoos of Bloomington; devoted friend, Skimmer Fuchs, of Wells; and very caring and helpful friend, Trudy Donahue, of Albert Lea.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; sons Kevin Savick and Mark Savick; grandson, Jesse Madson; sisters, Betty (Ray) Dylla and Janis (Earl) Seay; and brothers-in-law Harold Haugh and Leo Dylla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospice or donor’s choice.
