Phyllis Lynch, 1923-2016

Phyllis I. Lynch, 93, of Fremont, Nebraska, formerly of Minnesota, died Monday, June 6, 2016, in Nye Legacy in Fremont.
Phyllis was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Lake Crystal, to Ludwig and Sarah (Larson) Hanson. She grew up there and graduated from high school in Lake Crystal.
On March 10, 1946, she married Berlyn Lynch in Lake Crystal. The family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, in April 1961. Berlyn died on Jan. 30, 1981. In 1988, Phyllis moved to Clarks Grove, near Albert Lea. In October 2014, she moved to Fremont.
Phyllis had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea for many years. She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, baking, volunteering and playing cards — but she enjoyed and loved her family more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Berlyn; son, Richard; and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Novak, of Omaha, Nebraska, DeAnn (Daniel) Harvey, of Albert Lea and Shirley Flanagan, of Fremont; two sons, James Lynch, of Silverdale, Washington, and Dennis (Linda) Lynch, of Fremont; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian Peterson of Florida.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. The committal will be at 2:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Omaha. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont.
