Mary Hoffman

Mary Louise Hoffman was born Feb. 23, 1961, to Pete and Marcy (Zahratka) Hoffman in Albert Lea. Mary was a lifelong resident of Albert Lea. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church. She attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School. Mary worked at Cedar Valley for many years. She was very proud of her retirement, which came in 2012. Mary was involved in Special People in Religious Education, The ARC — especially the dances — and the Special Olympics.

Mary enjoyed shopping, bowling, knitting, latch-hooking rugs, crossword puzzles, scary movies, cartoons, singing and dancing. She enjoyed going out to eat, especially to Dairy Queen for a blizzard. She was a loving, caring, friendly person who lit up any room she was in. She was outgoing, full of fun and loved to tease and laugh; even being a little mischievous at times. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She always took the time to give them extra attention. Above all, Mary had a heart of gold and loved spending time with her friends and family.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Pete and Marcy; a brother, Peter M. Hoffman; and a niece, Chrissy Hoffman.

She is survived by her siblings Jim (Eiko) Hoffman, Christine (Andris) Polis, Suzanne Hoffman, Bob (Chris) Hoffman, Gary (Jacqui) Hoffman, Tom (Doris) Hoffman, Kathy (Bob) Oothoudt, Mark (Linda) Hoffman, Richard (Marcia) Hoffman, Matthew (Sue Cordek) Hoffman and Cindy (Dave) Martens; many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives; as well as her entire Crest family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to SPIRE or The ARC.

Blessed be her memory.
