Thanks for the support of fair

The Freeborn County Fair has ended, but the memories will last forever. We would like to thank everyone who attended or sponsored “The Six Best Days of Summer.”
From the Swifty Swine pig races, all the activities in the Kids Zone, all the vendors, Entertainment Square, the horse shows, the demo derby, to the many 4-H and FFA youth for making this fair another great year.
As the old saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. Well it takes an entire community to make the Freeborn County Fair run smoothly.
The Freeborn County Fair Board works year round to bring the best national entertainment to Albert Lea and the best carnival around with Gold Star Amusement.
The fair board motto has always been, and will continue to be to “entertain and educate fairgoers.”
Though our choices may not agree with everyone, we try our best. The Freeborn County Fair has a large impact on Albert Lea and Freeborn County, from visitors staying in our hotels, filling up their cars with gas, to eating out at our local restaurants.
From all the volunteers and superintendents the long hours are very much appreciated by the board.
A big thank you to all our law enforcement officers and medical personnel for making the fair a safe place to visit. On behalf of the board of directors of the Freeborn County Fair, thank you again to those who attended and supported “The Six Best Days of Summer.”
Mark your calendars for next year, Aug. 1-6, 2017.
