The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office has released transcripts from the 911 call made after the shooting death Aug. 23 at Myre-Big Island State Park.
In the transcripts, David Michael Easter, 26, of Brownsdale admits to shooting a man at the Big Island pavilion, claiming self defense. The man who died was later identified as Spencer Daniel Brown, 23, of rural Freeborn County.
Easter is now facing a charge of second-degree murder in Brown’s death.
The Tribune submitted a Freedom of Information Act request for the transcript. See the full transcript here.
