Alden-Conger wins thriller

It was a battle for the ages between Alden-Conger and NRHEG in volleyball Tuesday night.
The match went five sets and 231 points were scored. It ended with Alden-Conger pulling out a 15-11 win in the fifth set to end the madness.
“We battled with a tough (Alden-Conger) team tonight,” said NRHEG coach Onika Peterson. “At times, they had us on our heels, they had us scrambling. Because we were scrambling, it was difficult for us to set up our offense.”
NRHEG battled from a 2-1 set deficit with a 29-27 win in set four.
Rachel Collins dished out 50 assists for the Panthers. Marnie Wagner finished with 31 digs and 18 kills.
For the Knights, Elynn Johnson led with 21 kills and the Knights compiled 167 digs as a team.
Alden-Conger is off until Saturday.
NRHEG will face Maple River at home Thursday.
Start time for the match is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
