Losing streak continues for Tigers

Anything and everything has been going wrong for the Albert Lea Tigers the past few seasons.
The Tigers took two more blows Friday.
It was supposed to be Albert Lea’s home-opener Friday night, but because of the rainy weather, the game was moved 80 miles north to Belle Plaine, the opponent.
Albert Lea hung tough with Belle Plaine, but just couldn’t muster any offense to get back into the game.
The Tigers lost 31-6, but it was a stark improvement from the previous week’s 62-13 drubbing at the hands of Waseca.
Belle Plaine ran out to a 17-0 lead at halftime, but Albert Lea responded with a touchdown in the third quarter. Belle Plaine quickly answered with two scores to put the game out of reach.
The Tigers will have to wait three more weeks until their first official home game Sept. 30 against Tri-City United.
Albert Lea will travel to Worthington Friday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
