The Salvation Army is now accepting applications for the Centershot and Character Building youth programs. Applications are available at 302 Court St. The programs are open to the public and there is no cost to participate.
Centershot Ministry is a ministry-based archery program. According to a press release, participants will not only learn the basic skills of shooting a bow and arrow, but how to apply the same skills in daily living as good stewards and disciples in Christ. The program is from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday evenings beginning Sept. 13.
The program is divided into different age groups: explorers, first grade through fourth grade; rangers, fifth grade through eighth grade; moonbeams, age 4 and kindergarten; sunbeams, first grade to fifth grade; and girl guards, sixth grade and 12th grade.
The program will include structured learning, reading, crafts, recreation and snacks.
