The Albert Lea boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed at the St. Olaf High School showcase Friday.
The boys’ team came in 25th place out of 32 teams, and Carson Goodell paced the Tigers once again, as he finished 26th out of 687 runners with a time of 17:19.
Jayden Douglas finished with a time of 18:34, JV Moreno had a time of 19:48, Noah Weise finished in 19:55 and Joe Kreun had a time of 19:59.
Autumn Muilenberg was the top runner for the girls’ team. She finished with a time of 20:53, and that was good enough for a finish inside the top 50. Lexie Tasker ran the course in 27:51.
“We were very pleased with the effort and determination the runners demonstrated,” said Tigers coach Jim Haney. “We ran against some of the top teams in the state, and we learned a great deal about what we are currently doing well and what we need to do in the future to improve.”
The cross country team will have the next few days off and will return to action Friday when it will head to North Alexander Park in Faribault.
Start time for the race is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
