An Albert Lea native has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golfer of the Week, according to a press release.

Lucas Peterson — a junior at Winona State University and a 2014 Albert Lea High School graduate — earned medalist honors at the J.R. Watkins Invitations at The Jewel Golf Club, where he shot rounds of 68 and 73 to finish at three-under-par 141. He finished one stroke ahead of teammate Kelton Schmitz as WSU won the invite with a four-over-par 580. His round of 68 on Monday is tied for the lowest round shot in the NSIC this fall.
