Man reportedly rear-ends semi on I-90 in Faribault Co.

An Alden man was injured in a rear-end collision Saturday on Interstate 90 in Faribault County.

Cory R. Green, 36, was transported to United Hospital District in Blue Earth with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Green was driving a 2001 Ford Focus in the right lane of I-90 when it rear-ended a 2012 International semi driven by Alexander Vasilchenko, 46, of Everett, Washington.

The semi had entered I-90 from a rest area, the report stated.

The crash was reported at 7:30 p.m. near the Blue Earth and Mankato exit.

Vasilchenko was not injured in the crash.

The report stated Green was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Vasilchenko was wearing his seat belt.

It is unknown whether alcohol was a factor.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office and Blue Earth police, fire and ambulance departments assisted on scene.
