ALHS bands to perform

The Albert Lea High School Band department will present its first concert of the year on Thursday. The performance will be at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, and will feature the Tiger band, symphonic band and concert band. Tickets are available at the door and are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Children preschool and under are free. There is also a $35 family pass available for purchase. The pass is good for all band, choir and orchestra concerts for the rest of the school year.
The Tiger band, which is made up of eighth and ninth grade students, will perform two works, including the 3-movement “Fanfare, Ode and Festival” by Bob Margolis.
The symphonic band will perform three works, including an arrangement of movements from Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
The concert band, made up of mostly juniors and seniors, will perform three pieces. They include “Brazilian Folk Dance Suite” by William Rhoades, “Benediction” by John Stevens, and “Into the Storm” by Robert W. Smith.
