Betty Casebolt, 1931-2016

Funeral services for Betty Jean Casebolt of rural Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daphne Hamborg will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lime Creek Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Betty died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.  Her death was very sudden and unexpected.

Betty Jean Casebolt was born June 4, 1931, in Emmons, the daughter of Martin and Myrtle (Helgeson) Madson. She was baptized and confirmed at Lime Creek Lutheran Church and graduated from Emmons High School.

On Jan. 7, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Gary Casebolt. They lived and worked on the family farm for their entire lives. She enjoyed cooking, baking — especially making lefsa and Norwegian pastries for holidays — flower and vegetable gardening, and canning her produce. Betty loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church and active in church circles.

Betty is survived by daughters Vicki (Jerry) Linde, Marla Casebolt and Gayle (Bradley) Baalson; grandchildren Melanie Linde, Kiersten Baalson and Jacob Baalson; brother, Harris Madson; several cousins; and her favorite dog, Lucy.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary; and brother, Marlin Madson, who was killed in action during the Korean War.
