The City of Albert Lea has scheduled two open houses to discuss the 2017 budget. The open houses will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Albert Lea Senior Center and Oct. 25 at Thorne Crest in the theater room.

The City Council recently adopted the 2017 preliminary budget and Property tax levy. The levy reflects a 3.31 percent increase over the 2016 rate, however, because of growth of the city’s tax base, the average taxpayer will see a slight decrease in the City portion of their property tax bills.

The open houses are another way the City Council is continuing recently implemented community communications, conversations, programming  and outreach.
