Family deserves answers in death

To the Minnesota public,
Some things happen in life that just shake you to your core. We would like to ask a couple of questions. If a loved one was taken from you, like Spencer Daniel Brown was taken from us, what charge should the alleged be charged with? If you’re not aware, Spencer was suddenly and abruptly taken from his family in Myre-Big Island State Park a few months ago. Since aunts and uncles are not considered immediate family, the police won’t talk with us, so hence our letter to you — the only way we can see to express our voice. We love and will forever miss a beautiful human being that truly made the world a better place.
Why isn’t David Michael Easter facing a first-degree murder charge? There are certain published facts about the case that point to David facing charges that are little more serious to justify the gruesome way Spencer was killed. We read the Albert Lea Tribune’s articles and still can’t believe the facts on how Spencer’s last moments were. If you read how those moments were, you, too, would be wondering why first-degree hasn’t already been filed. And finally, why does David get to be with his family at Christmas, and we just have a gravesite? With such a violent act, how is it even possible to get out of jail on such a low amount for bail? Please, can you help us. All we are looking for is justice for Spencer.
