Mildred Mae Morfitt, 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea.

She was born March 4, 1925, in Harris, Iowa, to Henry and Sadie Morfitt. She graduated valedictorian of her class in Worthington and continued her education at the Minneapolis School of Business. She worked in the insurance industry in the Minneapolis area until she retired.

In retirement she enjoyed her church, many activities like the Ladies Aid Society, attending concerts and playing bridge. She took many trips throughout the U.S. with her friends and family.

She is survived by her brother, Derald Morfitt, of Albert Lea; aunt, June Boots, of Worthington; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sisters Mary Ann Ponto, Joyce Schlarbaum and Betty Herfindahl.

A celebration of Mildred’s life will be Monday. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and a service will be at 11 a.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea.
