Nancy Ann Sobolik-Pettis, 57, was born Feb. 26, 1959, to Donald and Arlene (Thilges) Sobolik in Austin.

Nancy was united in marriage to Ervin (LeRoy) Pettis on June 28, 1996, and resided in the Oakland area for the remainder of her days.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, animals, the outdoors and especially the annual get together with her special girlfriends. After retiring as a service manager from Flaherty Auto and Truck Center she was fortunate to be able to spend the last nine summers at her favorite spot on Dixon Lake.

After a lengthy illness, Nancy passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, with family members at her side.

Survivors include her husband, Ervin (LeRoy) Pettis of Oakland; children Tanya (Eric) Gourley of Blackduck, Tara (Brian Hoffman) O’Dell of Minneapolis, Jolene (Terry Bauman) Pettis of Maple Grove; four grandchildren; and sister, Rose Marie (Daniel) Sheimo of Austin.   

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy was a loving mother, sister and friend.  She will be remembered most for always being there for everyone and anyone whenever they needed her. Nancy was giving and forgiving and will be greatly missed by anyone and everyone she came in contact with.

A memorial service for Nancy will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Church, 407 N.W. Fourth St. in Austin. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
