Duplicate Bridge Club
Duplicate Bridge Club played at 6 1/2 tables on Oct. 4 at the Senior Center in Austin. Winners were Theresa Baldus and Harriet Oldenberg, first place; Gail and Ray Schmidt, second place; Bill Momsen and Larry Crowe, third place; Joyce Crowe and Millie Siever and Vandy Newman and Bud Higgins, tied for fourth place; and Gene Muchow and Ron Peters, sixth place.
Duplicate bridge was also played at 3 1/2 tables Oct. 5 at the Senior Center in Austin. Winners were Eunice Michaelis and Warren Behrends, first place; Vandy Newman and Ron Peters, second place; Dave Ring and Jim Fisher, third place; and Loren Cleland and Bud Higgins, fourth place.
Bridge is played at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays and at noon Wednesdays at the Senior Center in Austin. Bridge games are open to all players. Those who play do not need to belong to the Senior Center. For more information, call 437-2750.
TOPS MN Chapter No. 979
Tops MN Chapter No. 979 announced its August and September winners.
Division winners for the month of August were Betty Gavle of Division 3, who lost 4.4 pounds; and Sandi Oudekerk of Division 4, who lost 3 pounds.
Weekly best losers were Rose Rolands, week one; Darlene Hauge, week two; Rolands, week three; and Betty Gavle, week four.
Rolands was the four-star winner.
Lorraine Wallace received a paper shower.
Picnic contest winners were Fern Rockwell, Wallace, Ardis Bang and Nancy Jenson.
Division members for the month of September were LeAnn Jones of Division 2 with five pounds; Wallace of Division 3, who lost 5 pounds; and Oudekerk and Betty Johnson of Division 4, who each lost 1 pound.
Weekly best losers were Rolands, week one; Oudekerk and Barb Solbert, week two; Laureen Hohansee, week three; Jones, week four; and Oudekerk, week five.
Hohansee received a paper shower.
Summer contest winners were Rolands, first place; Hohansee, second place; Rockwell, third place; and Darlene Kenison, fourth place.
KOPS winners were Jenson and Peggy Indrelie.
Quarterly division winners were Hohansee of Division 3, who lost 9 pounds; and Rockwell of Division 4, who lost 4.6 pounds.
KOPS in black were Bang and Indrelie.
Take Off Pounds Sensibly is a nonprofit weight-loss support group. There is no diet plan, but support with others on the journey to health and wellness. TOPS Minnesota 979 meets Thursday mornings at the Senior Center in Skyline Plaza to weigh in and learn about healthy lifestyles.
