After squeaking by LuSueur-Henderson a week ago, NRHEG made Friday’s game against Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial a little less interesting.
The defense came to play and the offense looked to get back on track, as the Panthers rolled the Knights, 26-0.
“We played much better this time around than we did last week,” said Panthers coach Dan Stork. “The guys weren’t happy with how we played last week and they were on a mission this week.”
The Panthers jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first quarter and led 20-0 at halftime.
Running back Perry Peterson ran for a touchdown and threw for one in the first half.
The Knights got 181 yards on the ground, but just couldn’t find the end zone. The Panthers totaled 297 rushing yards, as Peterson totaled 166 yards himself.
Sawyer VanMaldeghem added a touchdown in the fourth quarter for the Panthers.
NRHEG has been rolling over the last month and a half. Since its loss to Mayer Lutheran in the first game of the season, NRHEG has won six in a row and has averaged 34 points per game during that span.
NRHEG will wrap up its regular season Wednesday at Maple River.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
