A Glenville woman was injured Sunday in a rollover crash outside Glenville.

Hayley Waalkens, 23, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Waalkens was driving a 2000 green Buick Century north on Freeborn County Road 26, south of Freeborn County Road 13, when she let go of the steering wheel. The vehicle reportedly veered into the east ditch, struck an embankment, rolled at least twice and landed upright at about 6:20 a.m.

A helicopter was requested, but it is unknown whether Waalkens was airlifted, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Alcohol may have played a factor in the crash, and it appears that Waalkens was wearing her seatbelt, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The crash is still under investigation.
