The regular monthly meeting of the Cannon Valley Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. Nov 17 at the Faribault Senior Citizens Center, 19 West Division St. in Faribault. Bill Harris of New Ulm will speak about the Confederate Navy and their British connection before, during and after the Civil War.

Civil War enthusiast Bill Harris discusses how the Confederate Navy virtually dominated the seas, wreaking millions of dollars in damages on the U.S.  Navy and shipping industry.  Learn how Great Britain, the world leader in sea power and technology, remained neutral while building some of the most advanced ships in the world for the Confederacy.

The public is invited, at no cost. Decaf coffee and treats provided with a question and answer session after the presentation.
