Icy roads contribute to crash

Icy roads reportedly contributed to a crash Saturday that injured two people on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County.

William A. Neaville, 45, of Dallas was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with a non life-threatening injury. Manraj Bhupram, 49, of St. Paul reportedly suffered a non life-threatening injury, but it is unknown whether he was transported.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Bhupram was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer south on I-35 when it lost control on icy roads. The vehicle reportedly rolled into the west ditch at about 7:30 a.m.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and Neaville and Bhupram were wearing their seatbelts, the report states.

2 Albert Lea residents injured in crash

Two Albert Lea residents were reported injured Thursday in a rear-end collision in LeSueur County.

Cady Baseman, 26, and Spencer Eggers, 19, were reportedly transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato with non life-threatening injuries.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Baseman was driving a 2014 Jeep and Luann M. Stangler, 54, of Elysian was driving a 2015 Ford Escape east on Minnesota Highway 60. Stangler reportedly slowed to make a left-hand turn onto 231st Avenue when the vehicle was rear-ended by the Jeep shortly before 11 a.m, west of Elysian.

Eggers was a passenger in the Jeep.

Stangler was not injured in the crash. Passengers in the Escape, Jane Milbrandt, 76, and Clayton Milbrandt, 85, both of Madison Lake, were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato with non life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and everyone was wearing their seatbelts, the report states.
