Walters will bring a bright future

I had the great privilege of practicing for years before Judge Terrence M. Walters as a Wabasha County prosecutor. It was a privilege because, as a young attorney, I found Judge Walters to be incredibly patient, fair and always willing to offer guidance.
Judges are faced with some of the most difficult choices imaginable, choices about whether to send someone to prison, whether to pull a child from a home or leave them with a struggling yet loving parent, or even how often a divorcing parent will get to see his or her child caught in the middle of the storm. I watched Judge Walters make hundreds of these decisions in my time in Wabasha, and he made each of them with balanced consideration and care.
What I admire most about Judge Walters is his willingness to give people second chances. I especially saw it come through in his work with children in both the juvenile delinquency and foster care systems. Judge Walters crafted his decisions to the needs of the child in front of him and to give that child every tool he or she needed to succeed. And many have.
I encourage each and every one of you to vote to re-elect Judge Terrence Walters so that he will continue to promote a bright future for the people of southeastern Minnesota.
