Yvonne Isa Kauffmann, 76, of Wells died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells with the Rev. Mary Iverson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association or Wells Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family. Yvonne was born June 13, 1940, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Elmer and Marie (Krueger) Simonson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1958. Yvonne was united in marriage to Dean Kauffmann on Aug. 27, 1959, and to this union three children were born.

Yvonne enjoyed long walks, and feeding the birds and squirrels in her back yard. She enjoyed cross-stitch and knitting, working in her flower garden and playing with her grandson.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dean, of Wells; two sons, Marty Kauffmann of Wells and Rob (wife, Wendy) Kauffmann and their son, Travis, of Ostrander; one daughter, Teresa Kauffmann, of Albert Lea; three brothers, Eugene Simonson of Albert Lea, Jerry Simonson of Hayward and Larry Simonson of Albert Lea; two sisters, Pat Hall of Hayward and Carolyn (husband, Dexter) Blood of Tofte; two sisters-in-law, Betty (Dan) Stenzel of Wells and Mary Dezell of Longmont, Colorado; one brother-in-law, Richard Kauffmann (special friend, Melanie) of Waldorf; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law Wally Hall and Duane Dezell.
