Albert Lea boys’ swimming comes up short in Austin

The Albert Lea boys’ swimming and diving team kicked off its season Thursday night in Austin.
The Tigers swam well, but came up short to the Packers, losing 93-77.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Travis Nemec, Aaron Zogg, Carter Simon and Esteban Johnson finished in second place with a time of 1:56.75.
The same foursome took second in the 200 relay with a time of 1:46.08.
Simon had a number of good individual performances, including a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle.
Zogg took third in the breaststroke and third in the 100 fly. Johnson finished third in the 100 freestyle.

Albert Lea will be in action Saturday when it hosts a Big Nine swim meet featuring six teams from the conference.
Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
