Bulldogs’ offense takes off

Games on back-to-back nights didn’t matter for the Lake Mills girls’ basketball team.
After beating Central Springs on Monday, the Bulldogs played Tuesday night against Eagle Grove.
The Bulldogs offense picked apart the Eagle Grove defense to the tune of 82 points in an 82-49 win.
However, Bulldogs coach Thad Evans was impressed with Lake Mills’ start to the game.
“We came out very sloppy on defense,” Evans said. “We made some adjustments at halftime and we shot the ball well. I think this game made us better, because we realized we need to be better defensively.”
The Bulldogs drilled nine three-pointers with Laura Knudtson draining four.
Lake Mills scored 52 points in the second half. Jade Gasteiger scored 19 points and led five players in double-digits. Knudtson scored 18, Jessa Gasteiger finished with 12, and Lexi Groe and Jewell Gasteiger each added 11 points.
Lake Mills is now 6-1 on the season.
It will host Garner-Hayfield-Ventura on Friday.
