The Alden-Conger girls’ basketball team has had an average start to the season — coming into Thursday’s matchup against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton with a record of 2-2 — but if Erika Bute continues to play the way she has been playing and getting support from her teammates, the Knights could be headed for a big season.

Bute finished with 25 points and helped the Knights to their third win in the last four games with a 61-52 victory over the Bulldogs.

Kelsey Newman finished with nine points and seven rebounds, Abbie Theusch had 10 points and nine rebounds, and Mikenna Erickson scored 10 points in the Knights’ win.
