Denny passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, in Fort Worth, Texas, where he chose to live his final days with his two daughters and their families.
Denny was born March 21, 1947, to Enok and Harriet Nielsen. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1966 and carried many of those close friendships through his life.
Denny served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. He managed his family business, Nielsen’s Service Station, for several years. He held various positions at other service stations and in retail. Denny loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed trips to the casino, live music, dancing and listening to George Strait. He loved visiting his daughters in Texas, and his daily phone calls with his buddies.
Denny is survived by his sister, Jolene (Harry) LaCore; his two daughters, Jessikka (Dante) Parker and Candice (James) Stoner; grandchildren Matthew Nielsen and Bailey Ward; great-grandson, Barrett Nielsen; and nieces and nephews.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.” Denny will be greatly missed by all.
