Annual Shop with a Cop takes place

The fourth annual Albert Lea Shop with a Cop event took place Thursday night at Walmart. During the event, local law enforcement officers accompanied area children on a Walmart shopping spree.

While the event provides holiday gifts for less-fortunate families, it is also an opportunity for positive interaction with law enforcement officers.

Though the children each had the opportunity to buy whatever they chose with a $100 gift card, many chose to buy for their parents, siblings and friends before they splurged on something for themselves.

The money spent was donated through a grant with the Walmart Foundation.
