It’s official.
Multi-sport athlete and Lake Mills senior Lexi Groe will attend Wartburg College in the Fall of 2017.
On Wednesday, Groe signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for the Knights.
Groe has been a huge part of the Lake Mills volleyball and basketball teams since she was a freshman in high school. Groe helped Lake Mills to a record of 41-1 this past fall, only losing to Columbus Catholic of Waterloo in the section finals. Groe was a monster, finishing first on the team with 290 kills — 58 more than her next closest teammate.
She recently set the Lake Mills rebounding record in basketball. She has over 720 rebound in her high school career, and that number will continue to grow.
Her volleyball coach, Jim Boehmer, has nothing but good things to say about Groe and her work ethic.
“I feel (Lexi) will continue to grow as a player under Coach Frazell’s leadership,” Boehmer said. “I am very pleased with the direction (Lexi) has chosen to go and I am extremely proud of her and excited for her future.”
